CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA of the 2nd Judicial District is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves abused and neglected children in Craighead, Greene, Clay, Poinsett and Mississippi counties. We are the second largest of 23 programs in Arkansas.
Our Mission is to recruit, train, and support volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children in the foster care system until they reach safe and permanent homes. CASA of the 2nd Judicial District was founded in 1995 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015. The organization is a member in good standing of the National CASA Association. Our goal is to provide quality advocacy services to every child in foster care by the year 2020! If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, please call us TODAY at 870-935-1099!
There are currently 950 CASA programs nationwide. CASA programs across the country are known by several different names, including Guardian ad Litem, Child Advocates and Voices for Children. Since the inception of CASA advocacy, volunteers have helped well over 1,000,000 children find safe, permanent homes in which they can thrive.
In the 2nd Judicial District, it is our vision for every abused and neglected child in foster care to have a CASA Volunteer.
