CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. |

CASA of the 2nd Judicial District is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves abused and neglected children in Craighead, Greene, Clay, Poinsett and Mississippi counties. |

Our Mission is to provide a voice in court for and on behalf of abused and neglected children who might otherwise have no voice for placement in a safe, permanent home. |
|
CASA of the 2nd Judicial District is a member of the National CASA Association that has been in existence since 1995. |
|
There are currently more than 50,000 advocates serving in 948 state and local program offices nationwide. |
|
CASA programs across the country are known by several different names, including Guardian ad Litem, Child Advocates and Voices for Children. |
|
Since the inception of CASA advocacy, volunteers have helped well over 1,000,000 children find safe, permanent homes in which they can thrive. |
|
In 2007 The Arkansas Department of Human Services investigated 26,817 reports of child abuse and neglect in Arkansas. |
|
As a result of these investigations 7,194 children were placed into foster care. |
|
Our Vision is for every abused and neglected child in the 2nd Judicial District to have a CASA Volunteer. |
